AYUDH Ahmedabad Cycled Against AMR to Spread Awareness

AYUDH Ahmedabad core team cycled against AMR to spread awareness about the threat of Antimicrobial Resistance. Though there was COVID restrictions, the team enthusiastically did the awareness campaign on November 21, 2021 as part of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, WAAW2021 declared by World Health Organization (WHO).

All the AYUDH chapters across the world has joined the Amrita School of Biotechnology from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in this world wide campaign to Go Blue to spread awareness about AMR.

"Antibiotics and other antimicrobials have saved millions of lives over the past 100 years. Unfortunately, misuse and overuse of these medicines is driving resistance and some infections no longer respond to drugs. This could take a huge toll on human lives and livelihoods in the 21st century unless urgent action is taken by everyone, everywhere to preserve antimicrobials. We are very happy that AYUDH is becoming part of this campaign. We will be continuing the activities further", said Dr Anushree Pandya, AYUDH Coordinator, Ahmedabad.

The team cycled from Maple Tree near Surdhara circle, Taltej to NFD circle, Ahmedabad. "We educated our family members and neighbors about the problems with AMR. We are planning to visit schools and societies to continue to spread awareness about the threat of AMR", remarked the core members from AYUHD Ahmedabad.
