Ugadi Celebrations @ Ayudh Mangaluru

On the auspicious occasion of Sauramana Ugadi, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru held Sathyanarayana Pooja in the Brahmasthana Kshetra on April 14, 2017. The Satyanarayan Puja, worship of the lord Satyanarayan and the embodiment of eternal truth, is the most commonly performed ritualistic prayers. The purpose of Satynarayan Puja is also to bring friends and family together and encourage unity and harmony. It is a common belief amongst Hindus that we should focus on universal happiness and unity. Thus, a celebration like this can make the world one fine place to gather together and offer prayers and rituals.
This was followed by a cultural program organized by the Samskrithi wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math. The guests for the evening were Sri. Rajneesh, Deputy Mayor and Sri. Harish Baliga, DGM (CSR), MRPL, Mangaluru. They were joined on stage by Bri. Mangalamrta Chaitanya, Matadipathi, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mangaluru; Sri The formal function also included the distribution of saplings by AYUDH members to the guests and gathering.
The event showcased the different forms of music, dance and drama with the themes from legends and folklore. There was a musical session from the AYUDH (Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara), the youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math. This was followed by Bharathnatyam dance by Vidushi Ayana Perla.
The event also had the parents of students and ex-student who spoke about their experiences with Amrita Vidyalayam and how the students have benefitted from the value based education imparted here. The teachers and staff of the school also performed a skit themed on Sri Sathyanarayana while the students danced to the Raas Leela. The evening ended with the mahaprasad and the event came to a close. The event was diligently performed. There was a soul to it. A soul that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant.
