AYUDH Durgapur Organised World Environment Day 2021

AYUDH Durgapur Organised World Environment Day 2021

On World Environment Day 2021, AYUDH Durgapur went out in a group to plant saplings. In accordance with Amma's teachings, AYUDHians did their part to restore harmony between nature and mankind.

They were very happy that they all could meet each other after a long time in this Covid period and the most interesting part of this World Environment Day was that they all could do an outdoor activity together.

Following all COVID protocols given by the government, the AYUDHians carried out the planting successfully. Their humble and selfless offering during a pandemic like COVID is reminiscent of one of India's greatest visionary leaders, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's words. “Trees are my guru. They continue to give unconditionally even when you pelt them with stones to take their fruit, and even if you cut them down. Trees give life. Let’s reciprocate that. Plant more trees.”

Aditi Chatterjee, the Ayudh coordinator of Durgapur, said, " The air pollution can act as a major cause of rapid increase in spread and death rate by COVID-19 and many other diseases like cancer. So there is an urgent need for clean and pollution free air which we can get only from plants and trees.Hence,by participating in this wonderful event of tree plantation, I really feel that we could save our mother nature and her children from further destruction caused by this severe pandemic of COVID-19"

Sumedha Roy, an active AYUDHian remarked "People who were affected by Corona virus and thereafter consumed O2 from oxygen cylinders, should understand the importance of trees for the regeneration of oxygen and plant more trees for purification of air, for the benefit of their future generations. As ayudh members, we really feel proud that we could plant some of the saplings in Bidhannagar and also at home on this World Environment Day.

All AYUDHians have taken one sapling to their home taking a promise that they all would plant it and take care of their plants at home.
