Painting Workshop, Ardhanariswara Organized by AYUDH Durgapur
A painting workshop, Ardhanariswara, was organized by AYUDH Durgapur, to give an opportunity for the creative minds to engage themselves to relax, be happy and have fun at this period of stress during Covid times.
Ms Debosmita Bhandari, an AYUDHian from Durgapur and Sixth Year fine arts student was the mentor of the workshop.
Main objectives of this workshop were, to teach basic techniques of watercolor in order to develop aesthetic values, appreciate the benefits of painting in spiritual gain by stimulating the creative mind, relieving mental strain and improving overall mental health. So, the divine form of Ardhanariswara pose was the theme selected for the workshop. The significance of Ardhanariswara and the Nataraja pose of Siva was explained prior to the workshop along with the benefits of the session.
“I tried painting after a long time and it was great to be at the workshop today”, said Harshini Ramesh, a BSc Physics student from Azim Premji University, Bangalore.
Arun, an admin executive from TBI, Amrita, Bangalore remarked, “it was really like doing meditation filled with silence”.
“I really had a great time during the online workshop. I was able to brush up my long-lost talent in painting...I hope AYUDH will conduct more of these kinds of programs that would encourage people of all age groups”, said, Urmila Unni, Coordinator, Bharatheeyam club, Kochi.
Gayathri, form Melbourne commented that my daughter Devika attended the workshop. It was indeed a great opportunity for her to do such a work. She really enjoyed the session. Our sincere gratitude to the team for organizing such an event. Hope to have more such sessions in future.
A diverse and enthusiastic group of participants attended the workshop, and it was filled with Passion, Patience and Perseverance.
