Ayudh - Awaken Youth; Unite for Dharma

In celebration of World Environment Day 2024, AYUDH Pune organized a Seed Ball Distribution and Awareness Campaign at Durga Tekdi, Pune, aimed at promoting reforestation and educating the local community on sustainable environmental practices. The initiative sought to inspire collective action for environmental preservation, engaging residents in simple but impactful green activities.

Volunteers distributed seed balls to local residents, encouraging them to participate in reforestation by scattering the seed balls in nearby forest areas during the rainy season. The campaign also included an educational outreach, where leaflets were handed out to raise awareness about the benefits of seed balls and the ease with which they can be made at home.

Vaishnavi Pande, a senior volunteer with AYUDH Pune, shared her thoughts on the event: “We felt very good conducting a green initiative program for the local people. Many locals were eager to learn about the seed ball process, and they were happy to make more seed balls and scatter them once the rains begin. We see it as our responsibility toward Mother Nature to explore every possible way to protect her.”

Echoing Amma’s teachings, she continued, “Amma always says, ‘Nature is God’s visible form that we can see and experience through our senses. By loving and serving nature, we are directly worshiping God.’” This message was embodied by the Pune citizens, whose active involvement reaffirmed the power of collective action in building a greener, healthier planet.

Community-driven initiatives like this foster a sense of shared responsibility for the environment. By educating and engaging local residents, AYUDH Pune is helping to create a ripple effect, encouraging others to adopt similar eco-friendly practices. This collective effort is crucial in addressing global environmental challenges and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
