AYUDH Pune Commenced Safe and Brave Online Campaign
AYUDH Pune commenced ‘Safe and Brave Online' Campaign on November 30, 2023, the International Computer Security Day – an exclusive initiative for youth that empowers them while providing knowledge and practical skills to mitigate cyber ills and develop resilience. The engineering and professional students from AYUDH Pune Team conducted the first session in CMS English School Higher Secondary School in Pune. These workshops will be continued by the AYUDH Team in all English medium schools of PCMC Corporation, Pune in the upcoming weeks. The workshop aimed to enhance digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among students, providing practical insights into online safety, privacy protection, and responsible digital behaviour, thus enabling the youth to navigate the online digital world with caution & confidence. The session, led by the AYUDH Pune team with expertise in cybersecurity included presentations, quizzes, Q&A and interactions. AYUDH Pune intends to extend the 'Safe and Brave Online' campaign to more educational institutions in collaboration with Amrita Center for Cyber Security, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for leveraging the success of this workshop. The participating student commented, "The workshop was eye-opening! I learned practical tips for keeping my online presence secure. The interactive sessions and quizzes made it enjoyable and easy to grasp." Another student gave her feedback, saying, "I appreciated the focus on responsible digital behaviour. The Q&A activities were engaging, and I now feel more confident navigating the online world safely." “I found the session to be very informative and engaging. I learned about the different types of online threats, such as cyberbullying, phishing, and malware. I also learned how to protect myself from these threats. I believe the Safe and Brave Online campaign is a valuable resource for students.”, another student remarked. “Through this program, we aim to empower children to navigate the digital world with wisdom, enhancing their comprehension of the medium while also promoting respect for others on the platform. This program represents a significant initiative in making students aware of the adverse effects of technology. I am extremely happy that we could raise awareness in the participants. The quizzes were so useful as students will be able to decide if any kind of similar situation happens in the future. I am very grateful to be with such a good team of AYUDH and very much thankful to Amma for the opportunities to serve the world”, remarked Mr Pranav Ghabade, a Computer Engineering Student from AYUDH Team. These positive responses underscore the workshop's success in making cybersecurity education accessible and engaging for students. Boosted by such feedback, AYUDH Pune is eager to extend the "Safe and Brave Online" campaign to more educational institutions, building on the success of this workshop.
