First Day of AYUDH Self-Management Internship Programme (ASIP) at Kolkata
The light of knowledge never extinguishes. If you have the right knowledge, others can also light their lamp of knowledge from you!
On the first Day of AYUDH Self-Management Internship Programme (ASIP) at Kolkata, AYUDHians symbolically depicted this. Each participant lighted a Diya and prayed to Amma that the light of goodness, the light of Dharma, the light of knowledge that dispels the darkness of ignorance in their lives. The first Diya was lighted from the main lamp by AYUDH coordinator and all participants lighted their individual Diyas by passing from one to another.
Amma says, "If each one of us lights a small lamp, the strength of the light will multiply and everything can be illumined. Similarly, this action should help us to ignite the light in each of our hearts. Even when we light thousands of lamp from the first one, its flame and light will remain the same.
The Diyas were placed around the AYUDH Rangoli made by AYUDHians. The AYUDH Moto ‘Awaken youth; Unite for Dharma’ made with Rangoli was a reminder for the youth to unite for Dharma always.
The program has been commenced as part of C20 Integrated Holistic Health Working Group events, and is designed to make the participants understand how Sanatana Dharma practices provide individuals with greater mental and physical health, a sense of direction and purpose in life and aligning one’s actions and choices with their deepest values and purpose, leading to a greater understanding of one’s true Self.
The Internship Program introduction and guidelines were given by Bri Amritatmika Chaitanya following an interesting interactive session with the participants.
Dr. Priya Nair from Aims Kochi, Coordinator, C20 Integrated Holistic Health Working Group gave an inspiring talk on Spirituality and Integrated Holistic Health and shared how Amma’s guidance has been inspiring the C20 Teams to move forward in a very faster pace towards their goals.

Bhagavad Gita shines as the beacon light of knowledge, inspiring millions to tread the path of Dharma. Life Management lessons as depicted by Gita was one of the most inspiring event in the AYUDH Self-Management Internship Program. Amma says “In the Gita, Lord Krishna teaches that spirituality is something we have to live in our day-to-day life – it is for everyone, and is especially applicable to all who want to live life full of happiness and contentment”
The ASIP participants chanted Gita Slokas together, learned the detailed definition and meaning from the facilitators and they brainstormed and came up with the real life scenarios based on the given Gita Slokas for their presentations.
Quiz on Sanatana Dharma was conducted by Bri Niseema which was a wonderful event to test Participants’ Knowledge. As the Internship has only selected members, the event saw a very tight competition among the teams. They said, they learned several concepts in-depth through fun with a great team spirit.
Through a value based Bingo Game, the participants got to know each other, their positive practices and how much their friends know about the Indian culture and heritage.
Day 1 ended with interesting assessments and participants said they are excited to learn more in the upcoming days!
